Dear blogger ;
When you travel to Palembang ( capital city of South Sumatera Province ), you can't miss the city hallmark : the Ampera Bridge.
The bridge is built to joining the upstream and downstream part of the city ( local say : Ulu and Ilir part ).
The bridge stretch about 1,7 km over the Musi River. Built in 1962 .
It built using Japanese war reparation funds.
When you travel at night, you can see decorating lights which changing colours.
You can also see the glimmering lights of the Sultan Badaruddin II Museum.
And the Kuto Besak Fort.
Also the Mayor's office and the Grand Mosque with its tower & terraced roof.
Many kind of vessels traveling at the Musi River.
From speedboats, ketek, sampans to huge container ships.
The river plays a very important role not only to the city economic, but also the province.
You can found Pupuk Sriwijaya Fertilizer Plant at it's river bank.
Also Pertamina Oil Refinery on the other part.
The city goverment launch the " Visit Musi 2008 " campaign earlier this year.
So the river and the bridge have been make-up.
The houseboats lining the riverbanks have been brightly repainted.
Also one of the tourist spot at Musi River all the Pulau Kemaro ( Kemaro Island).
This small island in the middle of the Musi, contains an old Chinese temple.
Thousands of Chinese visitors each year for the Cap Gomeh Celebration.
Don't forget to try the Waroeng Legenda Floating Restaurant.
As you can try local food with a live music at the Musi River.
Thank you Miss Ina Hapsari and Mr Syvlain Julien for the contribution.
You can always find a route or hotel to go Palembang by checking the Wutravel.
