Dear blogger ;
Recently I found an interesting interview with Ms Cindy Lui ( HRM of Hong Thai Travel Services - Hongkong ) at hongkong's website.
The ideas of the whole interview is when you decided to work at tourism sector, having fun is just part you will experience in tourism, commitment is essential if one wants to pursue a long-term career in this industry.
Ms Cindy also said that having a passion towards one's career is so important. Imagine that when others are on holidays, it is usually the busiest time of our tour guides. They have to work non-stop at least for a few days in a tour.
Also for her, personality is more important than qualifications. Specially for the front-line staff.
Language ability also consider important along with costumer- oriented outgoing.
Where is the candidates came from ? Beside looking for job seeker, Hong Thai had a close relationship with some schools with placements program. This is the part of social responsibility role the company had taken.
At the end Ms Lui said that tourism is an energetic industry. If one is willing to learn, engaging in this industry allows your to broaden your horizons and enrich knowledge of other cultures.
Ready to take role anyone ?
Regards;
