Fun stuff : Loksado - well known nature tourist spot

Here is one more nature tourist attraction in Indonesia that well known worldwide.
Is the Loksado area in South Borneo.

The name Loksado is come from a small village in the slope of Meratus Mountain Chain.
To be exact, Loksado is located at Kantawan Mountain.
This mountain is a a conservation area of 245 ha tropical rain forest.
This forest is rich with rare plants and animals. Such as bekantan, owa- owa, jungle orchid, etc.

Loksado can easily reach from Banjarmasin ( capital city of south Borneo ).
From Jakarta, there are several flight to Banjarmasin.
You can stay at Swiss-bel Borneo Banjarmasin before proceed your journey ( book here )
Then, continue the journey by land transportation to Loksado via Kandangan City.
A total for hours drive at a good condition road.

Many cottages and Dayak's communal houses along the way if you want to stay overnight.
When finally arrived at Loksado, there are plenty activities awaiting.
The breeze of cold mountain wind and view of jungle around can pumped our spirit.
There also a high rise waterfall and nature hot spring.
For the culture tourism, there are 43 traditional communal house spread all over Loksado.
The biggest is Balai Malaris, Balai Haratai and Balai Padang.

For those with good physical condition, several native trails in few days for jungle mountain trekking is available.
The hard and long trekking goes up to Mount Basar at 1892 meter high.
During this route, you'll up and down the mountain chain, cross some rivers & hanging bridges.
Also to find caves, waterfall and a great variety of flora and fauna.

But for trekking, you must take a licenced tour guide, porter and good personal equipment.
Dayak tribe is the local inhabitants along your trekking path.
Dayak are "hill tribe" and still embrace Kaharingan faith.

Bamboo rafting is famous to be the best tourist attraction here.
Instead using a kano, kayak or inflatable boat, local use bamboo to create a traditional raft.
The amandit river have many rapids that give the rafting more fun.
The local government held annual competition of bamboo rafting to boost tourist visits.

Loksado offers many natural experience you can't find at other place.
