Let's continue our journey to the thousand Islands ( north of Jakarta ) :


Kayu Wangi Island

This island is surrounded by reefs that shelter it from waves. So the water is shallow enough that you can see to the bottom. Also with clear pale colour, you can see fish with rich colours swimming slowly near you. A great place for snorkeling.

Right before this island, lies the Panjang island. In this island an airfield is under construction that will be ready next year.


Kotok Besar Island

This island is known as a conservation island for the " elang bondol " ( brahminy kite ) and " elang laut " ( white-bellied sea eagle ) by the Jakarta Animal Aid Network ( JAAN ).

The conservation lies at the east part of the island, while the west part is The Alam Kotok Resort - a beautiful island resort.

Another attraction is this island is diving. Many consider that Kotok Besar Island is the best diving spot at thousand islands.
























This is a few of many island on the thousand islands. When you want to explore the beauty's of this sea-beach nature adventure, make sure you got a good boat with a good captain as a tour guide.
