Work stuff : Honesty Store...a massive project to end corruption

Corruption is one shameful act that affect almost all aspect in our community. Even get worst when corruption is widely accept as a common act. From government employee, law enforcement, to members of senate or congress.

My country had suffered a bad economic condition due to this act. With such enormous amount of natural resources such as petrol, coal, gas, palm oil, rubber, etc , Indonesia still leading the numbers of poor families and noneducational people in South East Asia.

Today government work hard to punished everyone involved in this practice. Also to grab back the money / assets they corrupted and use it for the people need. But to eliminated the corruption from the root, we need to teach our younger people that corruption is a shameful act. Corruption is killing other people slowly. Corruption must stop.

For this purpose, government had spread many " Honesty Store " all over the nation. A lot of them is placed at High School as a part of Anti Corruption Campaign. In this " Honesty Store " there are no Storekeeper or Surveillance's Camera. Just a box of display made from glass. In this box you can find some items that use to be sold at the regular school store. Such as pencils, candies, erasers, snacks, bottled water or milk, etc. Each item store in different little box with a price list on it. For payment, you will find a special box in the middle of the items. In this box you shall place your money for the item you buy. If you need a change, you can take it also from this box. Nobody will help you. Help your self...

After practising this " Honesty Store " for almost six months, we will proceed to see the results. Some store like at Public High School no 3 Jakarta ( SMAN 3 Jakarta ) gain a success. No more than 3 US Dollar deficit for each month. And the sales growth from 20 US Dollar to approx 100 US Dollar each month.

But not for the SMAN 6 Jakarta. The deficit reach approx 30 US Dollar each month. Teacher of SMAN 6 admit that to teach young people need patience and lot of understanding. But we are getting progress each month.

For now there are almost 2.800 " Honesty Store " across Indonesia. Hopefully this act can help us eliminated the corruption act once and for all.
