Work stuff : First Round Election is over...

Dear blogger ;

Yes, finally the first round election in Indonesia is over. This first round is to choose the members of house of representative. The election start from 07.00 AM on Thursday 9 April 2009 and end at approx 12.00 AM at the same day. After that, various quick counts held at several local television. This quick counts is ahead the real count from the KPU ( Election Committee ) that start at the next day and assumed to be finish in a week.

Quick count results show the incumbent president of Indonesia , Mr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono from the Democratic Party leading the election with nearly 20 % share. At number two and three are two big and mature parties : The Golkar Party and The Struggling Democratic Indonesia Party. As for the Golkar Party is a decline from number one position at 2004 election. And for the Democratic Party is a big leap from number five position at 2004 election. At number four is also a relative new party The Justice and Welfare Party. This party is a modern Islamic party that focus on anti corruption government.

Beside the busyness of vote counting and more, here is some " refreshing news " around this year election :

1. Some people at Brotonegaran city of Ponorogo East Java are preparing a HANGING SPOT for Representatives Candidates that lost in this year election. This HANGING SPOT is a symbol that each and every candidates need to be ready for loosing.

2. Not only at local, the Democratic party also leading at several election spot out of Indonesia. For example at Helsinki - Finland, Democratic Party leading at number one with the Golkar Party and The Justice and Walfare Party at number two and three.

3. Re - election have to be done at several location, including at Kertapati city of Palembang South Sumatera. The reason is one of the candidate name is not printed at the ballot - paper. This is pure a printing error. Also some district had a wrong ballot - papers that supposed to be delivered to a different district. So Re - election is the answer.

4. At Papua Province, armed rebels are still a thread. After the Wednesday attack at Abebura Police Station, people at this district still afraid of next attack. So the most of the Election Corner is close shortly after the election. No counting is performed. Locals says that they will be waited until next Friday to count the ballot papers.

Regards ;
